The Waste 500

An initiative to map the 500 least circular waste flows.

Help us identify the waste streams that pose the greatest challenge to achieving a world without waste together!

What are we doing it for?

Working together towards a circular future

waste500-logo

By 2050, Europe wants to be climate neutral and fully circular. A circular economy is an economy in which all raw materials within the chain can continue to be used. However, in the current linear system we are dealing with products that have no other destination than residual waste. We must publicize these products in order to call on producers to redesign them or look at possibilities for new innovative processing.

Will you help fill the list?

  • We start by drawing up a list of products that always end up as residual waste
  • Our LCA experts get to work ranking the flows
  • We will publish an official list in the Waste500 in 2025

Nominate your waste stream for the Waste500

Which unavoidable waste stream for which there are (yet) no sustainable solutions should you immediately think of?

Are they car tires? Or do you nominate old electronics, metal or textiles?

Zero Waste Week focuses on waste-free solutions

From May 25 to 31 is National Zero Waste Week, which focuses on minimizing waste for a week. Milgro focuses on waste in the office and in production environments. During this week we bundle our knowledge and propose solutions that contribute to waste reduction. With an interesting program, a live blog, practical examples and the opportunity to ask questions about specific challenges, this week makes it versatile and interesting for any organization that has zero waste ambitions.
