What is the register of waste?

The waste register is a mandatory company record in which you keep track of your waste streams. The register is part of the Belgian policy to protect human health and the environment from the harmful effects of waste. As well as to combat the waste of raw materials and energy.

The waste register is part of the 'Flemish Regulation on the Sustainable Management of Material Cycles and Waste' (VLAREMA).

The waste register is mandatory.

In Flanders, every company that produces waste is required to keep a monthly waste register. The competent authority is Public Waste Agency of Flanders (OVAM).

So does your company receive an inspection or control of your waste separation and processing by OVAM? Then your waste register will be requested. With this, you demonstrate that you manage and sort your waste properly.
Do you want assurance that you pass these inspections with flying colors? Then download the appropriate report from the Milgro dashboard and add it to the waste register.
