Van Delft Biscuits, one of the largest bakeries in the Netherlands, has outsourced waste management to Milgro. The aim of the collaboration is to make the waste flows of Van Delft Biscuits even more transparent and controllable. Milgro takes responsibility for an unambiguous and controlled waste management process and continuous management of better financial and sustainability performance.
Largest 'pepernoten' factory
The producer of snacks, biscuits, breakfast substitutes, 'kruidnoten' and 'taai taai' has been the 'purveyor of Sinterklaas' when it comes to 'pepernoten' since 1880. Of every 100 'pepernoten' sold in the Netherlands, about 70 come from this bakery, which is the largest and oldest 'pepernoten' factory in the world.
Industry-leading durability
Van Delft Biscuits waste management is already very progressive. “We expect to gain even more detailed insight into the waste flows through this collaboration. This enables us to optimally recycle the residual flows and reduce waste as much as possible. This concrete interpretation also makes sustainability a part of this process. This is a great start to lead the way in the sustainable use of raw materials ”, says Isabel van Moerkerk, Buyer at Van Delft Biscuits. “We have confidence in Milgro's active and professional approach and are convinced that the collaboration will bring innovative solutions.
Nice collaboration
Laurens Groen, CEO of Milgro, is happy with the collaboration:“Van Delft Biscuits is a great addition to our customer portfolio in the food sector. We are proud that this leading family business chooses us at this busy time of the year. In addition to providing insight and reducing waste, there is also interest in our solution to register the waste of raw materials during the production process. We are looking forward to a great collaboration. ”
