Thursday, June 8, Milgro hosted the Nudge Friends Meeting. The theme of the evening was 'Collaboration in the circular economy'. The aim of the meeting is to bring together sustainable frontrunners and inspiring speakers to share their knowledge and vision with others.
Dining together
After a tour of Milgro's unique building, the approximately 30 participants in the meeting sat down to dinner. While enjoying a vegetarian 'kapsalon', the theme of the evening was discussed at four tables: 'Collaboration in the circular economy'. A number of friends from Nudge - Humanagement, Closing the Loop, Veolia and Milgro - led the table discussions as table leaders.
Profitable sustainability
After the table sessions, the four discussions were summarized in the plenary session, led by moderator Lars Sorensen. Laurens Groen, CEO of Milgro, was then interviewed on stage by the moderator about the potential of sustainable waste and raw materials management. Milgro offers the systems, data and intelligence to realize the transition from consumption to use of raw materials.
New life for paint
Jeroen Brink, Director Business Transformation at AkzoNobel, then gave a concrete example of the reuse of paint in his story about the 'RePaint' project. In this project old paint is given a new life by collecting it, working it up and distributing it among social initiatives.
Networking
During the networking drinks following the plenary session, there was a long discussion about circular initiatives and sustainable solutions. All in all, a very successful gathering of friends.
