At the end of 2018, Milgro decided to make a donation to the Amsterdam Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (AvL) hospital for research into immunotherapy, instead of sending Christmas gifts. Immunotherapy is a promising form of cancer treatment that ensures that the immune system can better destroy cancer cells.
Recently, various donors, including Milgro CEO Laurens Groen, were invited by the AvL and the Stichting CarolaHelpt to see for themselves what such donations are spent on.
Researchers Trieu My Van and Professor Dr. Christian Blank presented the research group's brand new Digital Spatial Microscope. Using this microscope, the researchers can accurately determine the characteristics of a biopsy within a few days - a process that previously took up to a year.
The new microscope gives researchers the insight they need in the fight against cancer. Milgro is happy to have contributed to this.
